With its beautiful floral backdrop, perfect temperatures and combination of fresh colours, there is no better time for a wedding than spring!
There are so many things we love about spring. After a long winter, the warmer temperatures and spring sunshine are welcomed – as is the landscape, as gardens transform with new colour and fragrance.
There’s also something extra special about getting married during the spring months. As it’s all about rebirth, renewal and new beginnings. It’s the best season to start your next chapter together as a married couple.
It’s changes like these that make the season perfect for a wedding, along with a whole host of other perks…Take a look at the top five reasons to have a spring wedding in Devon!
1. Better availability on wedding dates
During the summer months, it can be difficult to secure a weekend wedding date – with some couples reserving dates years in advance. In spring, however, you’ll have a much better selection of dates. Venues may offer discounts too on last minute spring wedding dates – so there’s really nothing to lose!
2. Venues are in full bloom
What better backdrop for your wedding photos than a glorious venue in full bloom? During the spring months, gardens are usually at their best. There’s plenty of colour and visual interest – both adding to the charm and romance of your day.
3. Suppliers are less in-demand than in the Summer
Got your eye on a leading local photographer? Left some of your supplier bookings until the last minute? If you’re getting wed in spring, it will be a little easier to secure your favourite suppliers. Unlike the summer months, where you’ll find some suppliers getting booked up years in advance, spring wedding dates are more widely available. With more availability come potential discounts too!
4. A choice of inspiring colour palettes
With combinations including rose quartz and Chantilly blue; blush and gold, and mint and yellow, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to your wedding colours. The lighter, brighter tones of spring reflect the bright floral feel of the season and bring elegance and romance to venue décor.
5. The perfect temperature
Let’s face it, most of us dream of a wedding day that’s sunny and mild yet not too hot or too cold. Spring offers some of the best British weather and comfortable temperatures – ensuring your man’s not too hot in his suit and you’re not shivering in your dress.
So now you’re set on having the perfect spring wedding, you’re going to need to find your perfect wedding venue…
A Spring wedding at Brickhouse Vineyard

With this package up to 60 day-guests and 100 in the evening, you will have exclusive use of the Round House, Barn, landscaped terraces and grounds for your celebrations.
The beautifully restored Devon barn skilfully combines tradition and modern architectural design to create a unique synthesis of rustic charm and stylish elegance. Stunning features such as the open-vaulted oak beam roof alongside modern design and in-house bar for comfort and convenience provides a unique space for wedding celebrations. Complete with a private landscaped terrace offering views over the Vineyard to the sea beyond, parking for up to 25 cars and wheelchair-friendly, the Barn provides an impressive and versatile space for unforgettable wedding celebrations.
What does a barn wedding day look like?
On arrival at the venue, you’ll walk down the wildflower meadow aisle into the Round House to your wedding ceremony. After your ceremony, drinks will be served on the terrace whilst taking in the amazing views of the Vineyard and the countryside. Your photographer will then whisk you away for some couple photos to capture the magic of your special day. Your day then flows seamlessly to your wedding meal in the Barn, situated conveniently behind the Round House.
After you’ve enjoyed your wedding meal, speeches and toasts you’ll enjoy some downtime on the terrace before the evening celebrations begin. The first dance will take place in the Round House kicking off the evening party. The Barn remains accessible to you and your guests throughout the evening, so perfect for those who prefer a quieter ambiance and prefer not to hit the dance floor!
