Welcome to Brickhouse Vineyard
Our rural vineyard home in Devon
We’re Joanna and Matt, and along with our two daughters we are hugely proud to call Brickhouse Vineyard our home. Having left our corporate careers in London in 2015, we endeavoured to pursue our dreams and follow our hearts to the rural and rolling countryside, where we created something that simply did not exist in Devon.
Our mission was to create a business that provided a happy environment for our young family, so that we could spend more time with our children, Emilia and Ellie, as well as an improved work-life balance. From the moment we set eyes on Brickhouse Vineyard, we instantly saw the potential in the Grade II listed house (which is renowned as one of the very first houses in Devon to be built from handmade bricks), the Threshing Barn, attached Round House and of course, the vineyard itself.

Your wedding venue
Brickhouse Vineyard was magnificently restored after three years of intense building works, where the thatched 18th Century Round House was completely rebuilt with massive oak beams and a striking octagonal softwood roof structure. When we first open as a wedding venue we did every single job ourselves to set high standards. Over the years, we have taken the time to listen to our couples’ feedback to improve our services and overall experience, to ensure it is as easy as possible to say, ‘I Do’ at Brickhouse Vineyard. Joanna still oversees every wedding that takes place at Brickhouse, personally training our team of dedicated Wedding Coordinators to ensure the level of services provided exceed every exception.
The venue sits on a landscaped terrace, with views of nothing but vines and hills, bringing couples an idyllic spot for elopements, micro weddings and larger celebrations in the Barn. And it’s all waiting for you…

While the beauty of Brickhouse Vineyard speaks for itself, it’s the team that really makes the magic happen. As a family run business, we pride ourselves in ensuring that we have a tight-knit team at the helm, so that your wedding runs without the hitch.

Joanna
Joanna is without a doubt the driving force behind Brickhouse Vineyard. Her endless passion for weddings collides with her corporate career – the perfect ingredients for a wedding venue owner!
While weddings take up a huge chunk of her time, she also loves running, the sea and of course, spending time with her family and friends.
Matt
Matt is busy behind the scenes as Finance Director and is working hard for the Vineyard itself. He is passionate about promoting small-scale sustainable farming and no-dig veg growing. He can often be spotted cycling with his friends, or in the market garden of Soil and Soul (our sister company). He is a true outdoorsy chap, so working on the land is his dream come true.
Elley
Elley is one of our onsite Venue Managers and a real gem within our unit. You will often find her horse-riding, tackling water sports and generally making the most of the great outdoors (especially the beach). She adores working at Brickhouse Vineyard, especially as she has had the opportunity to meet some amazing people during her time here.
Meg
Meg is an incredible photographer alongside her role co-ordinating swoon-worthy weddings here at Brickhouse. With her photographer eye, she’s a real asset to our team, ensuring that we are never short of stunning images of the site. When she’s not with a camera in hand or coordinating the dreamiest celebrations, she grabs the chance to enjoy the coastline on a boat.

The Vineyard
An exquisite setting
Brickhouse Vineyard has carefully carved an exceptional reputation on the English map as one of the UK’s most noteworthy artisan vineyards. We pride ourselves in carrying out our work with immaculate attention to detail, where our grapes are thoughtfully harvested by hand with help of local community. Our wines are also made at Sandridge Barton, our local winery and one of the country’s most talented wine makers.
We are proud members of the Southwest Vineyard Association and UK Vineyard Association, and have been awarded bronze in the South West Vineyard Association Awards for our first harvest of Sauvignon Blanc in 2016.
Our vineyard sits amongst 20 acres of fields, woodlands, ponds and organic gardens in the South Devon countryside, offering a rural setting that will remain imprinted in your mind forever. With an array of exquisite backdrops on offer, our boutique vineyard really is a photographer’s dream, where you take a romantic wander hand-in-hand as newlyweds and capturing every special moment on camera.
